Solution: Final Price = Original Price - (Original Price * Discount Percentage)
Final Price = Rs 40 - (Rs 40 * 0.25) = Rs 40 - 10 = Rs 30
2- If a car travels at a speed of 60 miles per hour, how far will it travel in 3 hours?
Solution: Distance = Speed * Time
Distance = 60 miles/hour * 3 hours = 180 miles
3: If the average of five numbers is 15, what is their sum?
Solution: Sum = Average * Number of Values
Sum = 15 * 5 = 75
4: The sum of two consecutive even numbers is 46. What are the numbers?
Solution: Let the first even number be x, then the next consecutive even number is x + 2.
Equation: x + (x + 2) = 46
Solving for x: x = 22, so the numbers are 22 and 24.
5: A rectangle has a length of 8 cm and a width of 5 cm. What is its area?
Solution: Area = Length * Width
Area = 8 cm * 5 cm = 40 square cm
6: If 20% of a number is 50, what is the number?
Solution: Let the number be x.
Equation: 0.20x = 50
Solving for x: x = 250
7: The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 3:2. If there are 15 girls, how many boys are there?
Solution: Let the number of boys be 3x, then the number of girls is 2x.
Equation: 2x = 15
Solving for x: x = 7.5, so there are 3 * 7.5 = 22.5 boys. Since the number of boys must be a whole number, there are 22 boys.
8: The sum of three consecutive odd numbers is 69. Find the numbers.
Solution: Let the first odd number be x, then the next two consecutive odd numbers are x + 2 and x + 4.
Equation: x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 69
Solving for x: x = 21, so the numbers are 21, 23, and 25.
9: A bike is travelling at a constant speed of 30 km/h. How long will it take to cover a distance of 150 km?
Solution: Time = Distance / Speed
Time = 150 km / 30 km/h = 5 hours
10: If a box contains 24 chocolates and 1/4 of them are dark chocolate, how many chocolates are dark chocolate?
Solution: Dark chocolates = (1/4) * 24 = 6 chocolates
