The National Testing Agency has announced the CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025

. For any UG courses offered, the candidate must have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognized board.

Candidates for PG programs must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institution in the discipline in which they wish to enrol. CUET 2025 will be held according to the official schedule. 

Students enrolled in Class 12th can take CUET (UG) 2025 if the University authorizes it. Furthermore, only Indian citizens can apply for and sit for the CUET entrance exam 2025

In addition, candidates wanting to take D/M.Phil. Courses should have a master's degree in any specialization. Candidates in their final year of graduating are eligible to apply. Both undergraduate and graduate courses have varying eligibility requirements for CUET.

Generally, the CUET eligibility criteria 2025 are defined under three parameters as mentioned below:

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025 

To be eligible to take the Common University Entrance Test, candidates must: 

  • Must be citizens of India or individuals of Indian descent. 
  • They need to have finished (or are in the process of completing) their 10+2 education from a recognized educational board or university. 
  • There is no age restriction for candidates appearing in CUET (UG) - 2025. 
  • Applicable regulations of Universities/Institutions for the year of Class 12/equivalent examination must be adhered to. Candidates should verify their eligibility on the respective Universities/institutions' official websites. 

The course programme level determines the CUET eligibility criteria. The academic qualification, percentage of candidates, and stream are all part of the eligibility criteria for the CUET exam 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be eligible for CUET.

CUET UG Eligibility Criteria 2025

  • Minimum of 50% marks in class 12th for general category aspirants and 45% for SC/ST aspirants. 
  • Subjects required include physics, chemistry, mathematics, and/or biology, depending on the course you are looking for.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2025

  • Minimum marks are 55% for the general category and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD category individuals. In some places, there is a different cut off for the OBC individuals. So please refer to the course details. 
  • In general, an individual is required to clear the Bachelors in the same field or any associated field of the course in which you wish to take a Masters degree. The field details are given for each course in the prospectus.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for PhD Programme 

  • If you have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM, or qualified in any other national-level Exams, you are exempt from appearing in the entrance test but must register for CUET 2034. 
  • You need to have a master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for general candidates, 50% marks for OBC candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 
  • Rest, the minimum eligibility changes according to the course. The main CUET subjects required for each course are different depending on the course you choose to enrol in. 

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025 [UG Courses] 

Below are the CUET UG Eligibility Criteria for the UG Courses:

Integrated B.A.LL.B/B.B.A/B.C.A/B.A Integrated B.A.B.Ed/Integrated B.A.LL.B (Hons.) The candidates must have done 10+2 or equivalent in any stream from a recognized Board/University with not less than 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Integrated B.Sc B.Ed (Mathematics) The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in the Science stream from a recognized Board/University with not less than 60% marks for the General category, 55% marks for the OBC-NCL category, and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Also, you must not have completed 20 years of age as of 1st July of the current year. Candidates must have Mathematics/Statistics, Physics, and Chemistry in 10+2.
Integrated B.Sc B.Ed The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in the Science stream from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Integrated B.Sc (Hons.) M.Sc/Integrated M.Sc in Chemistry The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Chemistry from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Integrated B.Sc. M.Sc/Integrated M.Sc in Biotechnology Minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent on the grading scale of the Board at 10+2 level with Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biochemistry. 5% relaxation to OBC/SC/ST/PWD candidates
Integrated M.Sc in Biochemistry/B.Voc in Biomedical Sciences The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Biology from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with Chemistry from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% marks for General/OBC and 40% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory in 10+2, along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology and Electronics.
Integrated M.Sc in Economics The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with English and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 65% marks for General/OBC and 60% marks for SC/ST candidates.
B.Voc The candidate must have passed a 10+2 pass from a recognized board with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Students with NSQF certification levels may also apply. Students who have passed an equivalent exam from a polytechnic in the same.
B.Sc in Textiles The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 60% marks for General/OBC and 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.
B.A in Social Science The candidate must have done 10+2 in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories.
B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering The candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks for General/OBC and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates.

CUET Reservation Policy 2025 

Candidates should review the CUET reservation criteria before applying to any CUET participating university. Students from the reserved groups are offered a 5% reduction in the minimum percentage required for admission.

Each participating university follows the reservation policy rules established by the Government of India. If a candidate fails to present proof of the legality of the CUET reservation claims, the participating universities will deny admission. 

Is CUET online or offline?

The CUET 2025 will be a computer-based test (CBT) with objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It will tentatively be held in the first and second weeks of July 2025. 

CUET Exam Pattern 2025

The CUET 2025 will be divided into four portions, with an examinee's maximum time duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes in each slot. Section IA will provide applicants with the option of selecting one of thirteen languages. In addition to those accessible in Section IA, Section IB will have 20 languages to choose from.

In each language, 40 out of 50 questions must be attempted. Candidates' language skills will be assessed through reading comprehension through MCQ-based questions, with 45 minutes allotted to each language. 

Section II will include 27 Domain-Specific Subjects to choose from, with a maximum of 6 domain subjects per candidate for a university. In this phase, 40 questions out of 50 must be tried, and they will be tested in MCQ format according to the NCERT Class XII syllabus. Candidates will have 45 minutes for each domain subject in CUET

Section III will include a general test. In this segment, 60 questions out of 75 must be attempted. Candidates will be tested on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, and Logical and Analytical Reasoning in MCQ format, with 60 minutes to complete it.
