Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET), the second-largest entrance exam in the country is mandatory to get admission to undergraduate programs at central universities.

Before starting preparation for the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET), students must prepare a road map like how many hours should they study each day, how much time they should allocate for each subject, what subjects to cover, etc.

CUET Exam Pattern 2023

Before knowing the preparation tips, let us understand the exam pattern for the CUET (UG) Exam.

According to the notice published by the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Common Universities Entrance Test will include three sections as explained below:

  • Section 1: Language Test

  • Section 2: Domain-specific test

  • Section 3: General aptitude test

Students must create a study plan that should include all the subjects as per the CUET syllabus specified by NTA.

How to Prepare for CUET Language Test 2023?

In the language test, there will a total of 50 questions out of which you have to attempt 40 questions in 45 minutes.

The questions asked in the language test are mainly based on three types of reading comprehension passages: Literary, Factual, and Narrative.

  • Focusing on improving vocabulary and grammar will help students to score good marks in the language test.

  • Students should practice at least 1-2 reading comprehension passages daily.

  • Try to speak in English with your family members and friends to improve your vocabulary.

  • Also, reading the newspaper daily for 45 minutes is a must for the language test.

How to Prepare for CUET Domain-specific test 2023?

In the domain-specific test, there are 27 subjects in total. However, students have to pick any six domain subjects based on their interests.

  • The standard of questions in this section is of class 12. Hence, students must have knowledge of all fundamental concepts of the subjects they have selected for their UG course.

  • Allocate at least 1-2 hours for preparing domain-specific subjects daily.

  • Try to practice as many questions as possible after the completion of each topic from each subject.

  • Students can prefer NCERT textbooks to prepare for domain-specific subjects.

How to Prepare for CUET General Aptitude Test 2023?

In the general aptitude test, the questions are mainly based on quantitative aptitude, logical & analytical ability, numerical ability, general knowledge & current affairs, and general mental ability.

In the quantitative part, the questions are of the 10th standard level. So, revising all the important formulas and concepts till the 10th standard will help students fetch good marks in the exam.

For logical reasoning, practice puzzle-related questions and games that demand more logic. Also, attempt mock tests weekly twice to enhance problem-solving skills.

For general knowledge and current affairs, students can follow daily current affairs and watch the news regularly.
