Until last year, central universities conducted their entrance exams to provide admissions to various undergraduate programs.
However, from the academic year 2022, admissions to UG programs in all central universities are solely based on CUET (UG) scores.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET entrance exam tentatively in July 2022.
The Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET), earlier known as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), is the second-largest exam in the country.
This year, a total of 56 universities are participating in the CUET exam to provide admission to various undergraduate, post-graduate, and diploma courses. The National Testing Agency will conduct the CUET exam from this year onwards.

CUET General Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed class 12 or an equivalent exam can apply for the Common Universities Entrance Test.
Those who are appearing for senior secondary level exams in 2022 are eligible for CUET (UG) Exam 2022.
There is no age limit to appear for the CUET exam. However, students should fulfill specific age criteria (if any) of the particular university to which they are willing to take admission.

Assam University Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2022
Assam University was established in 1994 after passing the Assam University Act in 1989.

From the academic year 2022, the university will provide admission to its various undergraduate programs solely based on CUET (UG) scores.
